Lazy Sunday in Cheltenham

Cheltenham isn’t somewhere I’d ever explored before, it had always been on the list as somewhere we wanted to go. So when we felt the need for a long weekend Mr K and I packed our weekend bags and headed here for a Sunday night stay.

We checked into 131 The Promenade and had no regrets, our room was at the top of the hotel, and was beautiful.

Chic interiors, modern with a twist of period character and charm, we were very happy and incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

There’s a great bar in the basement and beautiful main bar, both serve a great range of drinks, would definitely recommend stopping here for a cocktail before heading to dinner.

We wanted to go to East India Cafe for dinner but they we refurbishing (a good excuse to go back and try here for dinner), a lot of places were closed on a Sunday but we ended up at The Firestation Cheltenham. The food was nice but the drinks were particularly good.

Over our stay we struggled with nice/different places to eat. Do you have any recommendations for places to eat in Cheltenham?

We’d love to return and next time would plan a little better but had a lovely stay and what better was to wake up on a Monday than in a beautiful hotel, totally relaxed.
